James Wendell Huckaby, 84, entered into rest on March 8, 2022.

James was born in the St. Landry Parish of Eunice, Louisiana. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959, earning the rank of E-8 Master Sergeant. James continued his devoted service to his country for the next 21 years. He married Hilde in 1961 and they were each other's lifelong companions. James, or "Jim", was an avid lover of his LSU Tigers, golf, bullriding, and spending his time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Hilde, and their three children, James Gary Huckaby (Doris), Susan Huckaby Parsons, and Robert Spring (Gerlinde); and three grandchildren, Kerstin Spring, Emily Huckaby Michau (Joseph), and Holger Spring. James' family will forever cherish his memory.
