James "Jimmy" Kenneth DeLoach went to rest peacefully on Monday, February 28th, 2022, at home in Martinez, Georgia surrounded by family and his "fat cat."

He was born February 11th, 1950, in Augusta, Georgia, son of late James Alfred and Nettie DeLoach. Growing up in Harrisburg (the mill village), Jimmy had a childhood filled with sports and could usually be found playing sports at the Boys club. Cars and a passion for photography filled his teenage and young adult years. He was a tinkerer and once he was working on something, he didn't stop until it was fixed. He was always willing to help others and he never met a stranger. In his later years, Jimmy especially enjoyed riding motorcycles and disc golfing with his son. He loved bowling, camping, hockey and the Georgia Bulldogs, but mostly he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, brother and Papa. He was employed at Lily Tulip-Ford Howard-Sweetheart-Solo-Dart Container for thirty-five years as a machine operator-adjuster, and King Mill before that. Jimmy was the definition of a great guy and hard worker. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Alfred and Nettie Leopard DeLoach. He is survived by his son, James David DeLoach and his wife Michelle Mohr DeLoach (Martinez, GA); sister, Carolyn Darnell (Martinez, GA); grandchildren, Cosette DeLoach (Raleigh, NC), Reed DeLoach (Raleigh, NC), and Aibhlinn DeLoach (Martinez, GA); honorary grandchildren, Krista Trill (Knoxville, TN), Jaylen Darnell (Martinez, GA), Elijah Bowles (Owensboro, KY), and Isaiah Bowles (Owensboro, KY); niece, Margaret Darnell; nephews, Alan Darnell and Bruce Darnell; his wife, Wanda; and many friends and extended family.

We mourn the loss of our father, papa, brother, and we encourage any and all who knew him to remember the joy and light he brought to this world. The next time you see someone in need, offer them help in his honor and know he will be watching with a smile. We love you Dad/Papa, fly high!

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, March 4th, 2022, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 5th, 2022, at West View Cemetery, 2051 Division Street, Augusta, GA 30904.
