Mr. James Bailey Connor Jr. entered into rest on November 21, 2017 after an extended illness with Alzheimer's. James was born in Appling, Ga. to James Bailey Sr. and MaryLou Poole Connor on September 3, 1938. He graduated from Evans High School and attended Georgia Southern College. James made his home in Evans, Ga. He was the owner of Connor's Grocery in Evans until his retirement and later retired from McCormick Correctional Center. James was an avid outdoors man, expert hunter and fisherman. He spent many hours on Clarks Hill Lake while staying at his lake house. There he had many fish fries and was incredibly generous with his family and friends. The lives James touched are too numerous to list. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his son (Chris) James Christopher Connor of Evans, Ga. (Karen Gordon) and Chris's mother Elizabeth Connor, grandchildren Aimee E. Connor (Daniel Landon) of Martinez Ga., Carly Boulineau (Zach) of Grovetown, Ga., Cody Connor of Evans, Ga., four great grandchildren Kayla, Lillian, Isabell, Kynleigh and two cousins Clayton Googe and Dedre Gregory. A celebration of his life visitation will be held Monday November 27, 2017 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at the funeral home.
