IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackey
Klaus
March 9, 1956 – April 27, 2025
Jackey Klaus passed away on April 27, 2025.
Jackey served his community for many years as a police officer. Lieutenant Klaus began his distinguished career with the Augusta Police Department on January 1, 1978, before transferring to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on January 1, 1996. He proudly served as a Motors Officer with Augusta Police and worked his way through the ranks to become the Lieutenant over Road Patrol D North. After 33 years of professional, dedicated service to the citizens of Augusta and Richmond County, Lieutenant Klaus retired on March 18, 2011. When not working he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Another passion of his was golf enjoying playing with his friends in different tournaments. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend anyone could ask for and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Klaus; his 2 daughters, Jennifer Hodges (Anthony), and Danielle Burmeister (Chad); 3 brothers, Tommy Klaus, Raymond Klaus, and Bobby Klaus; 6 grandchildren, Harliegh, Madison, Jackson, Nicki, Macenzie, and Wyatt; and 2 great grand children, Rory and Nova.
