APPLING, Ga. - Mrs. Helen Boyce Mitchell, 89, wife of the late Robert E. Mitchell, entered into rest Sunday, February 7, 2016 after an extended illness. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Augusta, GA to the late Walter and Juliett Preskitt Boyce. She served as a pilot during WWII in the Civil Air Patrol and later retired from Electrical Equipment. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and had graduated from Tubman High in 1947. The family would like to give a special thank you to Trinity Hospice staff Carol, Sandra, and volunteer Gwen for the love, care, and compassion they showed Mrs. Mitchell. She was a loving wife and mother. Her warm and feisty nature will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery. Family members include a son, Boyce Mitchell and his wife, Fran, of Appling, GA; close friends, Doris Hughes and Karen Oetgen; as well as several nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Augusta, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, GA 30904. Thomas L.
