Helen Thomason Grindstaff, 101, of Martinez, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024.
Helen was born in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Lalla and Adele Dawkins. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Marks Baptist Church. She had a deep love for her Lord who she worshipped dearly. Her love also extended to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her extended family and her friends especially Eliza Middleton and Gail Johnson. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Hal Thomason Sr. and Bergin Grindstaff; her son-in-law, Thomas Moxley; her daughter-in-law, Bunnie Thomason; her sister-in-laws Janet Dawkins, and Marion Dawkins; brother-in-law, Doug Hemphill; and her siblings, William Dawkins, Thomas Dawkins, and Elizabeth Cunningham.
Survivors include her children, Hal "Mac" Thomason Jr., and Gail Moxley; her siblings, Jeanette Hemphill, Lewis Dawkins, and Sammy Dawkins (Vicki); her brother-in-law, Tommy Cunningham; her 5 grandchildren, Tommy Moxley Jr., Chris Moxley, Dan Moxley, Ben Thomason, and Wes Thomason; and her great grandchildren, Lance Moxley and Amber Thomason.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate her life will immediately follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Thomas Powell officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
