Harry E. Usry, Jr., 82, native of Augusta, GA, entered into rest on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was always called "Papa". He worked in the grocery business for 45 years and has been retired for 21 years. Harry was an active member of Journey Community Church, and a former member of Martinez Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to being a longtime Mason, Harry enjoyed playing pool, golf, and playing the guitar, but he got the most enjoyment from spending time with family and friends. Harry loved to read his Bible daily, and later in life he enjoyed relaxing and watching TV.

Harry is preceded in death by his father, Harry E. Usry, Sr.; mother, Kathryn Usry; grandson, Adam Akins; and his brother, Jack Usry. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra Brantley Usry; daughter, Kathy Akins; son-in-law, Phillip Akins; grandsons, Matt Akins and his wife Morgan, and David Akins and his wife Brittany; great-grandkids, Kennedy Akins and Dylan Akins; sister, Janet Hooks and her husband James; sister-in-law, Edna Usry; and several nieces and nephews and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, September 25, 2023, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907, with Pastor Bobby Smith and Rev. Phillip A. Winsett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
