George Earl McGee, 90, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, began his eternal rest on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

George was born in Saluda County, SC, in March of 1933. Before retiring from a 36-year career at DuPont as an E & I instructor and First Line Manager in the tritium facilities, George met and married the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Myrtle McGee. After relocating to Georgia, he began restoring older homes and continued gardening. Throughout his life, George remained faithful in his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

George was predeceased by his parents, Ernest Riley McGee and Bertha Outz McGee; his siblings, Edward Julian McGee, Jean Mizell, and Carolyn Carver; and his daughter, Peggy Lamm Johnson. Survivors include his beloved wife, Myrtle McGee; his children, Phillip McGee (Diane) of North Augusta, SC, Keith McGee of North Augusta, SC, Mickey McGee (Karen) of Monroe, GA, Russell Lamm (Kathy) of Clarksville, TN, and Judy Teasley (John) of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Robert Sanders (Heather) of Lexington, SC, Jason Sanders (Carissa) of Fountain Inn, SC, Jeremy McGee (Malia) of Norfolk, VA, Kayla Dailey (Austin) of Atlanta, GA, Josh McGee of North Augusta, SC, Patrick McGee (Jessica) of Evans, GA, Tyler McGee of Knoxville, TN, Joey McGee (Chelsea) of Monroe, GA, Christie McGee-Blackburn (Anna) of Tucker, GA, Luann McGee of Marietta, GA, Kennon Warner (Kirsten) of Denver, CO, Angie Warner, of Nashville, TN, Brandon Lamm (Stacey) of Niceville, FL, Christopher Lamm (Jennifer) of Charlotte, NC, Steven Lamm (Laura) of Clarksville, TN, Teresa Caudle (Bob) of Clarksville, TN, Steven Burch (Solach) of Norfolk, VA, Marshal Burch of Asheville, NC, Lorenz Quinn of Evans, GA, and Guy Quinn (Danielle) of Martinez, GA; and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family appreciates the assistance of SouthEast Hospice. Moreover, the family is especially thankful for the personal care daily provided by Vickie, Dell, Thelma, and Kesha.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
