IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gena
Rivers
October 11, 1963 – July 4, 2025
Gena Meadows Rivers, beloved wife of 19 years to Jimmy Rivers, went to her eternal home with Jesus July 4, 2025.
Gena was born and raised in Augusta, the daughter of C.C. "Doc" Meadows and the late Joyce Meadows. Gena was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and held a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and dental hygiene from Armstrong University. She was a WOCN Nurse and held many additional accreditations.
Gena left nursing in 2016 to join Jimmy at their business and operated the office and managed in a way that only Gena could. She was a natural leader and excelled at everything she did.
Gena was a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta and enjoyed her time volunteering with the Hope Women's Center and Embrace Grace.
Gena loved to travel, never met a stranger, or missed a connection to someone that she knew. She was loved by all and always lit up any place she was at. Gena never forgot a person or detail and enjoyed sharing those memories.
Gena's world was her doggies, Snickers and Zoey who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Rivers; her father C.C. "Doc" Meadows; her sister, Sherry Smith (Billy); her nieces, Kayla Kay (BIlly), and Katie Smith; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Warren Baptist Church with Grant Janik officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be, Tyler Toepfer, Wayne Hisaw, Jimmy Ferrell, Ray Childress, Jeff McGahee, and Paul Foust.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to the Hope Women's Center.
