Gail L. Thompson, born February 2, 1956, entered into her rest Tuesday, May 2, 2022. Gail accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized. She served as church pianist over several decades for a variety of denominations. She was a vital member of the Augusta First Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she taught Adult Bible classes, provided special music, played piano and organ, and tutored children at the Seventh-day Adventist school. Ms. Thompson retired from the Richmond County School System after many years of dedicated service. She also tutored students in various subjects and taught piano. Ms. Thompson was an able Bible Instructor, giving individual and group bible studies. Gail held several degrees including a B.A. in Music, Masters of Education, and a Specialist degree in Special Education.
Ms. Thompson is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Thompson; her daughters, Ruby Elaine and Rose-Anna Elizabeth Thompson; brothers, Kevin, Cubie, and Eric Lathan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anna Penn (Otis), Henry Thompson (Teri), David Thompson (Dorothy), and Oliver Thompson (Connie); many nieces and nephews, Buck, George, and Priscilla Lathan, Reginald and Wendy Lathan, Angela Lisa Johnson (Anthony), Lawrence Thompson (Amia), Spring Yakara Thompson, April Thompson, Constance Thompson, Sara Thompson, Robert Thompson, Henry Thompson, and many more.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 29th at 1:00pm at Augusta First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4301 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA. Pastor Daniel Romanov officiating.
