Mr. Frederick "Fred" Joseph Klein, age 74, beloved husband of Martha Stroebel Klein of 51 years, entered into rest Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Uptown. Mr. Klein was born in Russell, KS to the late Rudolph and Louise Klotz Klein. He had served in the U.S. Army and had enjoyed singing, fishing, golf, and bowling. Mr. Klein was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. at the chapel of Thomas L. King Saturday, September 8, 2018 with Reverend Kevin Steele officiating. In addition to Mr. Klein's parents, he is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry Klein (Helen) and Jerry Klein (Florence). In addition to Mr. Klein's wife, he is also survived by a son, Patrick Klein (Krista) of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Tanya Johnson of Evans, GA; 3 brothers, Richard Klein of Martinez, GA, Neal Klein (Janelle) of Augusta, GA, and Melvin Klotz (Jackie) of Nevada, MO; 3 grandchildren, Tanner, Casen, and Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews. In leiu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the VA Hospice Unit # 8322 C/O the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Uptown, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
