Fred "Chuck" Alwyn Thompson, 60, of Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest at his home on Friday, June 2, 2023.

Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Susie Jenkins; and his fathers, Clarance Jenkins and Fred Thompson. He leaves behind his son, Clay Thompson (Cody) of Rayle GA; daughter, Ashton Dozier (Wesley) of Tignall, GA; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Gracie, Bailey, Brantley, Bree, Hunter, McKayla, Tyler, and Amberly; as well as his brothers, Jimmy and Jason; and his sister, Anna.

Chuck graduated from Lincoln County High School and went on to be "The carpet man". He worked in the carpet industry his whole career and would say he was the greatest at it. When he wasn't laying carpet or spending time with his family, he was writing poems, which he was exceptional at. Once he retired, he was happiest spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Although he is gone here on earth, he is in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at his favorite place on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Bessey Point Lake in Lincolnton, GA, camp site 8. Family and friends will be there all day.
