IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ernest
Wilcher
October 18, 1946 – August 3, 2025
Ernest Lee Wilcher, 78, passed away on August 3, 2025.
Ernest was born in Jefferson County but lived in the Augusta area for a longtime. He loved driving a truck which led to a 42 year career as a truck driver. When not driving a truck he loved to be outdoors working in his yard, and in the past riding motorcycles. He enjoyed old cars, listening to music (old country being his favorite), shooting pool, and watching westerns. He also enjoyed eating grits and Ritz Crackers which he would say were two things you did not mess with. He was an animal lover with dogs holding a special place in his heart. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Wilcher and Kathryn Louise Reese; and his sister, Faye.
Survivors include his children, Lee Wilcher (Tina), and Jennifer Orozco (Fred); his sister, Elizabeth Maples; 3 grandchildren, Brittany, Hannah, and Christopher; and 3 great grandchildren, Kole, Azarya, and Kenneth.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00, one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Tinley, Travis Tinley, Christopher Tinley, Tyler Tinley, Russ Boyd, and Richard Dixon.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
