Ernest 'Pops' Henry Byce 73 of Grovetown passed away on September 25, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am

Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Bellevue Chapel.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at King's Funeral Home.

Ernest was from Saluda, South Carolina. He was born on April 2, 1948.

Ernest was married to Helen Minyard in September 1965; they were married 56 years. They were childhood sweethearts.

Ernest worked as a Mechanic his whole life. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved the mountains and loved to fish. He was always willing to help anybody at any time. He loved to be busy.

Ernest is survived by wife Helen Byce, their two sons Eugene Byce and Roy Byce, daughter in laws Sara Byce and Holly Byce, grandchildren Cara Harden (Wesley), Kayla Byce (Jeff Thomas), Aaron Byce (Kimberly Stewart) and Joelle Byce, great grandchildren Jackson, Kendall, and Keagan Gibson, Anna and Hadley Thomas, Bradley Byce, Mya and McKinley Harden, nieces Tammy Banks (James) and DeeDee Taylor (Hank), Saprina Minyard and other family and friends.

Ernest is preceded in death by his father Bailey Byce, mother Mary Byce, sister Jean Minyard, brother Bill Byce, sister in law Kate Byce, and grandson Nicky Byce. Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
