AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest at Doctors Hospital on October 29, 2915, Mrs. Erika Gschwind Slagle, wife of the late Neal Ray Slagle of Augusta, Ga. Mrs. Slagle was born in Darnstadt, Germany. She lived in Augusta since 1958. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of H2U Doctors Hospital and Seniors Circle of Trinity Hospital. She was preceded in death by her two grandsons, Kenneth Patrick Neal and Kristoher Brian Gambrell; brothers, Walter and Kurt Gschwind; two sisters, Katha Gschwind and Ilse Posehmann. Survivors: one son, Dieter Johnny Slagle and wife Shirley, Gladwin, Mich.; one daughter, Carolyn Frances Gambrell, Evans, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kym and husband Bryan Anderson, Aiken, S.C., Mychelle Kitchens, Hephzibah, Ga., Katie Slagle Story, Gladwin, Mich., Neal and wife Liz Slagle, Alaska; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 in Bellevue Memorial Chapel at 12:00 noon with Father Mark Van Alstine officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
