Eric Murphey

Eric Murphey, 55, of Augusta, passed away on June 5, 2026.

Eric was a lifelong resident of Augusta. He was an electrician and was active in the IBEW Local 1579 for over 30 years. He enjoyed his church and had a great love for all of his church family. He was a coin collector and loved his fur babies. Eric was very intelligent and was even the Valedictorian of his high school class. Eric always had a positive outlook and remained upbeat no matter what he was going through in life. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Michael Murphey and Shirley Murphey.

Survivors include his partner, David Jay; siblings, Michael Murphey (Heather), James Murphey, and Leeanne Murphey; nephews, Brent Murphey, James Murphey, Trent Murphey and Mickey Murphey; his great nephews and niece, Ghrig, Ryne, Tristan, Grayson, and Chloe, as well as many friends who will miss him deeply. 

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at MCC of Our Redeemer, 557 Greene St., Augusta GA 30901. The family will recieve friends from 11:00 until 12:00 Prior to the service at the church. Florist please deliver flowers to the church.
