Entered into rest on December 27, 2016 Mr. Edward C. Smith husband of the late Gladys Renew Smith of Augusta, GA. Mr. Smith was a baptist. A Mason with the Martinez Masonic Lodge. He was self employed as a Charles Chips Distributor. He was a World War II Veteran Sgt. 1st class with the 4th Infantry Division. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his son E.C. Smith Jr., 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Additional survivors include his daughter Rose Ann Giles (husband Tony) - Evans, GA, 1 brother Henry P. Smith SR - Covington, VA, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on December 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Hilley officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
