Edith J. Perdue, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on December 30, 1935, Edith's life was a tapestry woven with warmth, love, and unforgettable moments shared with family and friends.
Edith had a passion for life that shone brightly through her many interests. She had a particular fondness for horses, deriving immense joy from watching her daughter, Cheryl Trego, ride. This bond with her daughter exemplified her nurturing spirit and deep love for her family. Additionally, Edith was an avid NASCAR fan, embracing the thrill of the races and sharing this enthusiasm with those around her. She also enjoyed traveling and was an excellent baker.
Her heart was also large enough to encompass the unconditional love she had for her grandpuppies, who brought her endless joy and companionship. Edith’s home was always filled with laughter and the warmth of cherished memories, a testament to the vibrant life she led.
Edith is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl Trego; her loving sister, Louise Sheller; and her proud grandson, Travis Trego. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark "Toss" and Viola Smyers; her beloved husband, Francis Perdue; her first husband and the father of her children, Sherman K. Trego; her children, Stephen Michael Trego and Patrick Bruce Trego; and her brother, Clark Smyers.
The legacy of Edith J. Perdue lives on through the lives she touched, reminding all who knew her of the power of love, family, and the joys of life. Her spirit will be deeply missed but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
