Mr. Edwin Earl Estes, 74, of North Augusta, passed away after a short battle with esophageal cancer on November 13, 2024.

Earl was born in Baltimore, Maryland and spent his early days in Duxbury Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Grosse Pointe High School in Grosse Pointe Michigan. After graduation he moved with his family to Millport Alabama where he continued his education in airframe and power plant. It was in Millport where he met his loving wife while on the bus to tech school. He had a career in aircraft which led to him living abroad with work for many years before his retirement in 2001. Earl was a character who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved his family, his many friends, and Alabama Football. He had a heart for animals. Earl will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John William Estes Jr. and Sybil Stripling Estes, and his brother, Donald Addison Estes.

Survivors include his wife of over 45 years, Eva Joan Hildreth Estes; his son, Andrew Donald Estes (Heather); his daughter, Olivia Abigail Estes (Christopher Head); his grandson, Iverson James Head; his brother, Alan Mark Estes (Sue); his 4-legged companions, Murphy, Lola, Ziggy, and Sheila; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, aunts and uncles.

The family will have a service at a later date.
