It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duane Gerald Kinnunen, who departed this life on January 13, 2026, in South Carolina at the age of 69. Born on January 23, 1956, in Minnesota, he lived a life that touched many and left an enduring legacy through his family.

Duane was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Arloyce Geraldine Olson and Gerald Duane Kinnunen, as well as Angela Marilyn McCauley-Lawson, the mother of his son.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: his devoted son, Gerald Duane Kinnunen-McCauley; his step-father, James Kraskey; Dianne McCormick; and two cherished granddaughters. Through Krystal Lynn Kinnunen, he also leaves behind the generations that will carry forward his memory.

Throughout his life, Duane maintained connections with those who mattered most to him. His story stretches from the northern plains of Minnesota to the coastal lands of South Carolina—a journey that shaped who he became.
