Platson MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest on July 23, 2016, Mrs. Dorothy J. Platson, wife of the late Mr. Kenneth F. Platson of Martinez, Ga. The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Martinez United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary McWhorter officiating. Mrs. Platson will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Entombment at Bellevue Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chancel Choir at Martinez United Methodist Church. Pallbearers: Trevor Kitchens, Troy Green, Chris Green, Kenny Platson, Chris Heard, Stephen Heard. Honorary pallbearers: Members of McDonald Sunday School Class. Mrs. Platson was a faithful member of Martinez United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She was a member of McDonald Sunday School Class. She volunteered over 6000 hours at Doctors Hospital. She was an avid bowler and music lover. She loved her family and never went anywhere without her pocketbook. Mrs. Platson was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Bob) Platson, Martinez, Ga., and John Platson, Martinez, Ga.; two daughters, Sandra (husband Walter) Allison, Martinez, Ga., and Pamela (husband Jimmy) Floyd, Martinez, Ga.; one sister, Barbara Kinsella, Minnesota; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
