“Lisa,” Dorlisa Jean Shaffer 64, wife of James E Shaffer Jr entered into rest on September 13,2026 surrounded by her loving family and friends. 

Dorlisa was born March 31, 1962 at Vassar Brothers hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was an avid reader and you would always find a book in her hand by the end of the day. She was a convenience store cashier, where she had many “regulars” Who knew her well. Her most important job, though, was Wife, Momma and Nanny. She was known for her stubbornness,determination and the way she made everyone feel welcome when they entered her home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents James & Doris Ronk; her brother James Ronk Jr; her sister Bonnie Tompkins; her mother-in-law Patricia Lee & her son-in-law Gary White Jr. 

Her memory will be cherished by those survived: her loving husband James E Shaffer Jr; her daughter Christina White; her son,Robert Shaffer; her son James Shaffer III (Nikki);  Adopted Daughter Robin; her grandchildren,TJ (Khrystal), Austin, Hunter (Zoe), Dakota(Jade), HollyMarie, McKayla, Adrienne (Damian), James, Laila, Aubrey, Haley (Conner),Gaybrielle & Madison; her great grandchildren, Kolten James, Dakota Jr “DJ”, Riley & Nathaniel. 

She was the heart and soul of her family,from her husband,children,grandchildren,great grandchildren and all her beloved fur babies. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
