Retired Staff Sgt. E-6 Donald Eugene Eagler Sr., husband of 58 years of Mrs. Patricia Eagler, entered into rest at University Hospital on July 14, 2017. Staff Sgt. Retired Eagler was a military veteran with 21 years of service. He served in Vietnam with 1 Bronze Star and numerous other awards and medals. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mrs. Sharon Carmain. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Patricia Eagler; son Donald Eagler, Jr. and wife Sharon; daughter Susan Hires and husband Mitch; grandchildren Adam Eagler and wife Stephanie; Brad Eagler and wife Dana; C. J. Hires; Zack Hires and wife Rachel; and 12 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Rosary will start at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Van Alstine officiating. Entombment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors.
