Destany Marie Hazel passed away on the morning of June 26th, 2023, at the age of only 23.

Destany was born February 20th, 2000, in Augusta, GA. She attended North Augusta High School and recently earned her GED.

Her plans included pursuing a career in the cosmetology industry. Destany enjoyed spending time with her family, swimming, listening to music, and seeing others happy. She was strong-willed and brave, confident, and compassionate. She had a smile and a laugh that made everyone love her. Destany was a mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and dear friend to those who truly knew her.

Destany is survived by her son, Lenny Riggs; her loving parents, Heather Waters and Adam Murphy; her two younger sisters, Jaylin and Adrianna Waters; her two younger brothers, Rocky and Alexander Murphy; and her great-grandmother, Jean Beverly. Additionally, Destany will be forever missed by her Grandma Sharon, Papa Ramey, her boyfriend James West, as well as her many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, and her true friends.

Destany, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Rest in peace. "Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
