Mr. Derek Joseph Bond passed away tragically, and unexpectedly on May 8, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Emily, and his son, Lincoln; as well as his mother Brenda, his father Bryan, and stepmother Julie, brothers Bryan and Chris, sisters-in-law Tammy and Michelle, step-brother Branden, his nephews Connor and Seth, and his mother-in-law Susan, and father-in-law Loyd. Derek was a driven, and hardworking man, who loved helping others. He was an avid UGA and Michigan fan, and loved driving his side-by-side, grilling, and country music. He was always working on a project around the house, and would drop what he was doing to help others with their own projects. Derek helped others until the end. He was an organ donor, and his legacy will live on through the lives he saved, and through his family. He impacted everyone that he met, either through helping, or just joking around. He is greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Baptist Church at 119 Pleasant Home Road in Augusta, GA. The family receive friends from 10:00-11:00 at the church prior to the service.
