AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, July 14, 2013 at University Hospital, Mr. David Roton, 63. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary Church with Pastor Bryan Cockrell officiating. David had a natural musical talent. At age 7, he picked up a guitar and started singing. At age 9, he won over three counties in talent shows to be able to go to the Arthur Godfrey Show. His band played at clubs all around the Augusta area and was an opening band for many national acts when they played in Augusta. David was a Journeyman Electrician for 44 years and a member of local IBEW 1579. He was a cherished Father, Brother, and a loved Pappy. A special thanks to Chris Roton, his nephew, for taking care of him. Survivors include: son, Shane (Michelle) Addie; brothers, James "JP" Roton, John H. "Shon" (Sandy) Roton; sister, JuJuan "JJ" (Craig) Roton Tucker; grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, Sadie Addie; numerous nieces and nephews.
