David Edward "Rockin' Chair" Jenkins, 60, born February 12th, 1963, in Jenkins County, entered into rest on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023, at his home in Burke County after battling cancer.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Alyce Carol Toole; his father, Lewis Edward Jenkins; and great-nephew, Asa Tamblyn. Survivors include his two children, Carolyn "CJ" (Zach) Sapp of Sardis and Joshua Jenkins of Millen; his stepmother, Sybil "Ma" Jenkins; his brother, Keith Jenkins; two sisters, Julie (Bart) Gainey and Christina "Scoot" (Doug) Harrell; four stepsisters, Tammy (Tommy) Lane, Christi (Gene) Johnson, Tonia ( Windy) Underwood, and Tracy Coleman; three grandkids, Karleigh, Robert, and Ezekiel; nieces, Hope (David) Tamblyn, Jordan (Tom) Wooten, Anna (Brad) Dryer, and Laney Kate Harrell; and several other nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a lifelong truck driver and enjoyed DJing parties on the weekends.

A memorial service will be decided at a later date by his family.
