"Danny," Daniel E. Simpson, 67, entered the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends.

A long-time resident of Martinez, he retired after 37 years with PepsiCo. His favorite things were Nascar, college football, and volunteering to serve homeless Augustans. He was a member of Stevens Creek Community Church.

Danny is survived by his wife of 22 years, Julie Nesbit Simpson; son, Daniel Read Simpson; step-son, Robert Bradford Taylor (Jennifer); sister, Shirley S. Watts; brother, James H. Simpson (Tanya); sister-in-law, Mary G. Simpson; brother-in-law, JW McClellan; one grandchild; many nieces and nephews; best buddies and chosen family, Tom & Linda Deves, and Paul and Deb Rabe; and his beloved fur baby, Maple Joy Simpson.

He is predeceased by his parents, William L. and Leona Hall Simpson; his sister Diane S. McClellan and brother Billy L. Simpson.

No service will be held at this time. If desired, the family requests memorials be made to the Augusta Dream Center, 3364 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA, 30906.
