Damion Mize Perez, 26, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.

Mize is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Sarah Mize; and his grandparents, Mary and Howard Frantz and Michael Horton. Mize leaves behind his mother, Tina Frantz; father, Damion Lawrence Perez and stepmom, Kelly Perez; his brothers, Charles Reese Perez, Caleb Drayton Shealy, and Trace Seigler; grandparents, Jan Horton, Edwina and Floyd O'Neal, and Linda and Ray Walker; aunts, Angel McAlister (Wes) and Layla Perez; and many beloved cousins and other family. Mize's friends were also his family in many ways and were very special to him.

Mize was a shining light and a friend to all. He brought laughter and joy to everyone he met. He was born in Augusta, GA, where he grew up and attended Davidson Fine Arts School and then Westside High School. He was part of the wrestling team at Westside. He loved music and entertainment, and in Atlanta had worked lights and sound for bands and DJ entertainment. Mize enjoyed creative writing, music, playing guitar, and spending time with his friends.

He was 26 and had much life to give, and would give anything to help another friend or whomever he saw. He was extremely giving and generous. He loved animals and would want to rescue and help any animal he could. His heart was big and kind.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life visitation from 4:00 - 6:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. This will not be a formal service, it will be a gathering and drop in time to celebrate and remember Mize.
