Mr. Curby Lee Smith Jr., 72, beloved husband of 35 years to Janice M. Bollinger Smith, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Curby was born in Augusta, Georgia. He was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1969, attended Augusta College, and served in the Marine Corp. Curby retired after 42 years in Concrete Sales working with Claussen Concrete, Blue Circle, CSR, LaFarge Concrete, Coastal Concrete, and Columbia County Concrete.

He loved golf, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Braves, boating, Fox News, and his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters, Ava and June. Curby worked very hard, had an outgoing personality, and never went anywhere that someone didn't know him.

Curby is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, LeeAnne E. Smith Usry; granddaughters, Ava Usry and June Jones; mother, Anne Smith; sister, Sandra Fowler and her husband Mike; nephew, Mike Fowler Jr and his wife Stacy and their two sons Trip and Cash; nephew, Zach Sapp and his wife Ashley and their son Corbin; and nephew, Josh Sapp and his wife Chelsi and their daughters Paisley and Ella. He was preceded in death by his father, C.L. Smith Sr; and his sister-in-law, Erleen Bollinger Rotger.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Southeast Hospice- Dr. George Pursley, Tina, Sydney, Hallie, and Chaplain Christine for their kindness and loving care. Thanks to Rick Davis and his friends who checked on him.

He is loved and will forever be missed.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life visitation from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the Republican Party to re-elect Donald J. Trump.
