Craig Johnson, born on December 10, 1971, passed away on February 4, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy marked by his passion for mechanics and a deep love for all things automotive, especially fast cars and drag racing. Known for his remarkable talent, Craig built motors and transmissions with an expertise that few could match. His dedication to his craft was evident throughout his career as a mechanic.
In addition to his skills under the hood, Craig was an avid fisherman who participated in numerous fishing tournaments. He found great joy in competing in prestigious leagues such as Bass Fishing League , FLW, and even several B.A.S.S. Bassmaster tournaments. Craig recorded many impressive wins and secured numerous top 10 finishes, showcasing his dedication and prowess in the sport.
Craig was a multi-talented individual who taught himself to play guitar by ear. He had a particular fondness for heavy metal music, which he enjoyed playing in his free time, further illustrating his vibrant and dynamic personality.
He is survived by his son, J.T. Johnson; his mother, Cathy Johnson; his siblings, Chris Johnson (Nicole) and Cindi Dobbins (Jeff); as well as his cherished furbaby, Little Bit. He will also be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews, including Keylie Johnson, Laney Johnson, Casey Dobbins, Chase Johnson (Victoria), and Jeffrey Dobbins II. Craig is additionally survived by his great niece and nephew, Autumn Dobbins and Cohen Sholar.
Craig is preceded in death by his father, James Michael Johnson, a significant loss that will be felt deeply by his family and friends alike.
A visitation in honor of Craig Johnson will be held on February 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the passions he pursued with unwavering enthusiasm.
