Mrs. Cicely Woodrow McLaughlin, 91, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Hugh S. McLaughlin, Jr., US Army Ret., entered into rest Monday, August 7, 2017 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Washington DC to the late Fitz W.M. and Cicely Bowmar Woodrow. She attended Converse College in Spartanburg, SC and also attended George Washington University in Washington, DC. Funeral services will be graveside 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Mike Sides officiating. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McLaughlin was also preceded in death by a son in law, Richard F. Luis. Family members include 2 daughters, Cicely McLaughlin Luis of Martinez, GA and Jane Barns McLaughlin of Augusta; 1 brother, Col. Fitz W. M. Woodrow, Jr., USMC, Ret. (Faye) of Alexandria VA; 1 granddaughter, Amber Luis Rhea (Russell Tanton) and 2 great grandsons, Fitz William Tanton and James Woodrow Tanton; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. The family sends a special thanks to the employees of Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center and Homestead Hospice. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
