APPLING, Ga. - Entered into rest at his residence in Appling, Ga. on May 14, 2014, Mr. Chris Charles Parker, 35, husband of Mrs. Gretchen Kerins Parker. Chris was born in Fort Campbell, Ky. and worked with his father at Ricks Lawn and Garden Service. Chris was the Past Commander of Sons of American Legion Post 192. He graduated from Greenbrier High School, and received a 4 year degree in Finance from University of South Carolina. He won two state championships in baseball at Greenbrier, one World Series championship with Columbia All Stars. He also played college baseball. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jamie Parker. Burial will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park with Denise Dewey officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Gretchen Kerins Parker; father, Rick Charles Parker; mother, Cassandra Armstrong Parker; brother, Sean Parker; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the American Legion Post 192 in Evans.
