Charles Frank Cawley, 79, of Dearing, passed away on October 17, 2026. His race on Earth has ended and rejoicing in Heaven forever has begun.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Charles Frank Cawley Jr. “Charlie”; his parents, Tom and Mary Cawley; and his brother, Joe Cawley.
Survivors include his nephew, Joey Cawley; and numerous cousins from Grovetown GA all the way to central Texas. He called and visited regularly and looked forward to his yearly Texas visit with his cousin Jay to see everyone.
Frank was a people person who always had a smile on his face when he saw people. Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke. He got a love of flowers from his parents.
Frank had a passion for cars. He helped his cousin Walter build and repair dirt track cars. Frank drove his own car, his #29 Orange Camaro, at Gordon Park Speedway, where he also worked for many years. After his retirement from Ryder, he started building hot rods and taking them to the car shows. He followed the Southeast Gassers Drag Race Series where he met many lifetime friends.
Frank confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and faithfully served him through the good times and hard times of life. He always had time to pray for anyone, talk to them about Jesus and he faithfully read his Bible daily. Frank was a member of Dearing Baptist Church, where he enjoyed the once-a-month Brotherhood Meeting which always had lots of good food and fellowship.
Vicky and Walter would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to, Brittany and the staff of Silver Lining Home, Regency Hospice, Neighbors who were like family especially Julie Bailey who kept the yard cut and took care of Franks fur baby Taz, Patsy and Jay Spears who were always there to anything that was needed, Jimmy Martin for his influence of Frank’s walk with the Lord and always encouraging him and he and Frank even prayed for each other, and for Dr. James Lemley for his wonderful care and friendship of Frank, and Living Waters Church for their prayers and support for Frank, Vicky and family.
Memorial Services to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Dearing Baptist Church, 265 N. Main St. Dearing GA 30808, with Rev. Michael Timmerman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Florists please deliver all flowers to the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to Dearing Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279 Dearing GA 30808.
