It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Lee Sorrells, age 31, on April 7. Calvin was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, and he remained close to his home, his family, and his community throughout his life.
Calvin worked as a skilled painter, but his talents stretched far beyond his trade. He loved working on cars, building things with his hands, and drawing—creative outlets that reflected his thoughtful and imaginative spirit. In recent years, Calvin came to know Christ, and his faith brought him comfort, purpose, and peace.
Those who knew Calvin will remember him for his bubbly personality, his caring heart, and his willingness to help anyone who needed him. Calvin gave the best parts of himself to the people around him. He especially adored his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Tonya Sorrells and Mike Sorrells; his grandparents Helen Newman, Randall Reeves, and Raymond Findley; his uncle Wayne Findley; and his aunt Barbara Phillips.
He leaves behind his loving sister, Chelsey Sorrells Dixon; his nieces Hailey Dixon, Messaiah Brown, and Zendaya Brown; his nephews Jason Dixon and Bo (“Daddio”) Brown; his aunt Debbie Cochran; his uncle Randy Reeves; and cousins Jacob Reeves, Jenny Phillips, Nash Higdon, Abby Findley, and Gavin Findley. He is also survived by his mentor, best friend, and brother in Christ, Glen Wilson, as well as countless other friends whose lives he touched. Calvin was truly loved by many.
Calvin’s absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his generosity, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family will recieve friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Thomas L. King Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 PM.
