A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 1:30 PM at St. John Towers at the Plaza 2nd floor at 1:30 PM at 724 Greene St., Augusta, GA with Chaplain Frankie May officiating. Bessie was born in Palmetto, GA. She retired as a switch board operator from Southern Bell. She had been living in Atlanta and moved to Augusta two years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie Lee Conger and Sallie Clyde Bell and her son, Larry C. Thackston. She is survived by four grandchildren, Kelly Thackston, Hephzibah, GA; Zack Thackston, Oglethorpe, GA; Candace Lawson, Union Point, GA: and Matt Thackston, Greensboro, GA; Five great-grandchildren, Chaz Lawson, Brad Thackston, Hannah Thackston, Julia Thackston and Bryce Franklin.
