Benjamin David Blackmon age 27, of Martinez, Georgia, unexpectedly passed away on January 30, 2023. Born in Marietta, GA on March 31, 1995, Benjamin was the beloved son of Tommy and Deborah Blackmon, and best friend and brother to Andy Blackmon.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah; brother, Andy; Uncle, Roger; and cousins, Natalie, Caroline, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy; and grandparents, Roger and Ann Stone.
Benjamin attended Lakeside High School where he was very involved with the music program, and he lettered in the band. He also attended Augusta University majoring in Music Performance. He had a gentle and sweet spirit and a huge heart for others. He was a rambunctious and spirited little boy who loved the outdoors. He would try to keep up with his brother in sports, and finally found his sport in Disc Golf. Music was a passion of his since he was a toddler. When he was 6, 7, and 8 years old, he would go to choir practice with his mom. He would memorize the music and sing it from the top of his lungs. He was extremely gifted and learned to play the piano when he was 5 years old. Later, he picked up the French Horn and became a sought-after musician. Some of his musical accomplishments include performing with the Augusta Players, Fort Gordon Theater, and Rudy Volkmann's Orchestra. Benjamin loved The Lord of the Rings and everything Hobbit, along with Star Wars and playing video games with friends. He enjoyed a vegetarian lifestyle and exploring other healthy options. He was a long term and dedicated employee at Toast where he loved serving his customers. He will certainly be missed by all.
