Obituary

Mr. Barry Carter Bazemore, 90, entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Joanne Barronton Bazemore, two daughters Celia and John Mayo, and Carol Lee Walters, five grandchildren Ashley (Kevin) Beck, Katie, and Alex Osborne, Natalie and Valerie Walters. Barry was born in Atlanta and raised by his maternal grandparents Andrew and Pearl Hatfield in College Park. He attended GA State College and Orlando Jr. College in Florida. He served in the US Army and was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin, and Hanau, Germany. He later worked for Eastern Airlines in operations at the Atlanta airport and Daytona Beach airport totaling 35 years. Golf was his favorite pastime and he spent many enjoyable hours on the College Park Golf Course as well as courses in Florida and Augusta. The retirement years for Barry and Joanne were spent traveling in the U.S. and Europe especially camping in the national and state parks. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or to Forces United 701 Greene St. Augusta GA 30901. A memorial service will be held Monday September 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service
