Ms. Ashley Leigh Wood 41, entered into rest Thursday, June 29, 2017 at University Hospital. Ashley was born in Augusta to Charles C. and Linda Wright Wood, Jr. She loved the Lord and was active in the Methodist Faith. Ashley had graduated from Evans High School and later earned an Associate's Degree from Augusta Technical College. She was big in sports and loved women's softball and college baseball and football. Ashley had such a kind and gentle spirit and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Funeral services will be graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Frank Thigpen officiating. Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Earl J. and Eleanor G. Wright and her paternal grandparents, Charles C. Wood, Sr. and Elizabeth Swearingen. In addition to Ashley's parents, she is also survived by a sister, Jennifer Wright Rachels (Keith) of Grovetown, GA; a great aunt, Mary G. Crawford; 2 nephews, James Trevor Rachels and Charles Hunter Rachels; a companion, Jason Conn; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2017 for thirty minutes prior to the service at the graveside. Thomas L.
