MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mrs. Annette Frierson Dobyne, 79, beloved wife of Robert O. Dobyne, entered into rest Saturday, March 19, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Dobyne was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area and the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Moring Frierson. She was a member of The Sanctuary Church. Mrs. Dobyne was an accomplished lady and a world traveler. Listed below are some of her achievements: a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a member of the Resurrected Riders (CMA), a member of the Frog Hollow Association, was a saleslady for World Book Encyclopedia from 1971 until 1977, where she was listed in the Fortune 500 Magazine as being the top "Woman" salesperson of the year (unheard of for a lady to achieve that goal in her day). Mrs. Dobyne attended Tubman Girls School, where due to her research, the school was later designated as a historical landmark. She later graduated from the Academy of Richmond County. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Bellevue Memorial Chapel with Reverend Marc Smith officiating. Entombment services will follow at Bellevue Mausoleum.
