Obituary

Andrew Francis Thompson III, age 68, of North Augusta, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025. He was born on May 11, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, To Andrew Thompson II and Ann (Brosnahan) Thompson.

Andrew was a hard-working family man who spent the first half of his life as a distribution supervisor for Wonder Bread in Worcester, Massachusetts. After moving south, he spent the latter half of his years as an inspection specialist for Kimberly Clark. He was known for his work ethic and dedication to his duties, rarely taking a day off.

A devoted father and grandfather, Andy’s days were filled with his children and grandchildren, finding every opportunity to spend time with them. The many teams he coached for his kids, the games he attended as a fan for both his children and grandchildren, the support and encouragement he showed will never be forgotten. He was a frequent golfer with his family, always encouraging the scheduling of another tee-time, or opportunity to spend more time together. He was always finding a chance to show up for some board games, card games, mini-golf, or even a game of chess, just to spend time with those he cared for most. An avid reader, he was never too far from a library, frequently with two or three books checked out at the same time.

His love of his family and his willingness to spend time with them will never be forgotten. His kindness and love of teaching others and watching them discover their potential in games and in life will always be remembered.

He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew.

He is survived by his two sons, Joshua, and Kyle and his wife Jessica, as well as their children Aiden, Shelby, and Lincoln. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Thompson, and his siblings, Barbara, Michael, Mary Ellen, David and John as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends.

While not the most social person, he always took the time to chat with and befriend his neighbors and others close to him, forming lasting and meaningful bonds.

As per his wishes, there will be no ceremony, or event to commemorate his passing.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his stoic personality to all but those who knew him, and for the impact he made on everyone’s life.
