Entered into rest on January 6, 2017 Mr. Alton Henry Rau Sr. husband of Mrs. Loretta Manders Rau of Augusta, GA. Mr. Rau was a member of Abilene Baptist Church. A retired bus driver with Trailways Bus Line. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Rau was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He especially loved his dogs. Mr. Rau is survived by 2 sons Alton Rau Jr. of Augusta, GA and Dana Rau of Martinez, GA, 2 daughters Teena Newman of Evans, GA and Nora Waskow of Evans, GA, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 11:00am in Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastors Brad Whitt and Terry Doss officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the chapel from 9:00am to 11:00am. Sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.
