AUGUSTA, Ga. - Dr. Alton F. Garrison, 74, beloved husband of Harriett Harris Garrison entered into rest on November 8, 2014 at Doctors Hospital. Dr. Garrison graduated from Richmond Academy, University of Georgia and Medical College of Georgia. He was a Board Certified General and Vascular Surgeon in Augusta for 39 years. He was instrumental in starting the Joseph M. Still Burn Unit. He was a Captain in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam. He also served Columbia County as Medical Examiner for 38 years. Survivors are his wife, Harriett H. Garrison; sons, Frank Garrison (Kim) and Robert Garrison; daughters, Amanda Garrison, Shannon Holloway (Tim), Farrah Buki (David); 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
