HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Albert Gerald Dowdy, 72, beloved husband of Carol Artus Dowdy, entered into rest Friday, March 18, 2016 at Doctors Hospital. Mr. Dowdy was born in Glenville, GA to the late Earl "Doc" and Edith Wylds Dowdy. He married Mrs. Dowdy in 1974 and served in the U.S. Army and later worked for U.S. Battery. He was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses on Wrightsboro Road. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Dowdy, he is survived by a son, Butch Fairfax and his wife Patricia, of Harlem, GA; two daughters, Lorie Dowdy of Harlem, GA and Kimberly Slater of Harlem, GA; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dennis Dowdy, Buck Dowdy, and William Dowdy; one sister, Gail Scoggins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
